The Resolution Will Be Diverse

Our firm is a collective of people with different backgrounds, different experiences, and different perspectives. Because we believe in diversity—and we value it for its own sake. It also happens to be the secret to our success.

Overview
At Rissman, we have the best teams, with the best attorneys, doing their best work–and you can’t have that without multidimensional perspectives. When you embrace diversity, you give people permission to bring their full selves to work. This makes better work.

When you support the sharing of ideas and viewpoints that sum up the whole of human experience—not just part of it—you generate more creative ideas. This makes better work.

When you foster a culture of respect and appreciation for uniqueness, you instill within your teams a sense of collegiality and connection that strengthens their collective effort. This makes better work.

We’ve known this since our firm’s inception in 1972, and we’ve been striving to live it out in our day-to-day efforts ever since. Our growth and success over the subsequent decades can be attributed to many things: our proven record of success, our sterling reputation with clients, and the successful management of our enterprise. But if you want to know why we’re the best in the business, our commitment to building a diverse and inclusive workplace plays just as big a role as any of the above.

The proof is in the numbers: Nearly 40% of the partners at Rissman are women and attorneys with diverse backgrounds, while our associates are made up of 65% women and attorneys with diverse backgrounds.

As with everything we resolve to do here, our efforts extend beyond our offices, too. We are proud to support our clients’ diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and continually commit to supporting them in their efforts.

As we continue to recruit, develop, and promote diverse attorneys and staff members, we are also looking toward future improvement. Tomorrow’s Rissman will be even more diverse and inclusive, and all the better for it. We resolve to make it that way.

When you support the sharing of ideas and viewpoints that sum up the whole of human experience—not just part of it—you generate more creative ideas. This makes better work.
